The Fundación Valsaín is founded the year 2008 aiming to foster “the values on which democracy is based, through study, formulation, teaching and implementing proposals and initiatives of all kind that are meant to foster the knowledge and extension of these values and to prevent human rights violations as well as authoritarian, racist and xenophobes temptations.”
To accomplish these goals the Foundation has not only been doing various activities in a direct way(as you may see consulting its web page) but it also has build up a European Institute for Mediation and Public Ethics (Instituto Europeo para la Mediación y la Ética Pública, IEMEP) and a European Observatory for the Right of Asylum (Obsertario Europeo para el Derecho de Asilo, OEDA). We will initiate a third initiative soon, complementary to all the previous ones, in the form of an opinion magazine entitled “El Valor de la Democracia” (“The Value of Democracy”).
We look forward to complying with the foundational mandate, creating an opinion and information platform. This publication will be released regularly and it’s open for investigators, academicians, or political analysts who would like to take part in a free debate about the real actual situation of respecting democratic values in our particular societies, as well as the situation of human rights and the dangers that threaten them.
The conditions to collaborate in the Magazine can be consulted in the corresponding section of the web page that will soon host its first number.
We encourage our readers to actively participate in this initiative sending their contributions to us.
